PLA - Intro to Programming

This is a Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) to test out of the actual course. This PLA is comprised of a written multiple choice/short answer exam and a portfolio showcasing a programming exercise. There is a non-refundable fee to take this exam. Upon payment, you will be enrolled in Blackboard where you will see directions for contacting the instructor, completing the exam, some sample questions, and some tips for success before taking the actual exam. You must score an 80% or better for credit to be awarded. Applies the basic concepts of computer programming having learners build JavaScript applications, with an emphasis on problem solving, structured programming, debugging, and testing. Additional topics include online software development resources, programming and documentation standards, variable lifetime/scope, data types, control structures (conditions and iterations) and mathematical calculations. PLA Exam and Portfolio. $90 non-refundable fee.
