PLA - Speech

This is a Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) to test out of the actual course. This PLA is comprised of a portfolio and a skills demonstration scheduled between you and the instructor. There is a non-refundable fee to take this exam. Upon payment, you will be enrolled in Blackboard where you will see a sample rubric or checklist of how you will be graded and directions for contacting the instructor to schedule the demonstration. You must score an 80% or better for credit to be awarded. For CLEP, AP, Military, or certifications/licenses, please fill out the "Request Information" form and someone from Mid-State will contact you with directions on submitting proof of your experience. Explores the fundamentals of effective oral presentation to small and large groups. Topic selection, audience analysis, methods of organization, research, structuring evidence and support, delivery techniques, and other essential elements of speaking successfully, including the listening process, form the basis of the course.
