Marriage and Family

This course introduces the student to the sociological aspects of marriage and family life in contemporary American society. Students will become familiar with the empirical patterns and trends, political and cultural debates, and policy issues concerning families – and the major theories and research methods used in the sociological study of the family. Prerequisite: Reading - Multiple Measure Reading (MMR) or Accuplacer 236 or ACT 15 AND Writing - Multiple Measure Writing (MMW) or Accuplacer 237 or ACT16 OR 10831104 College Reading and Writing with a C or better
