Environmental Ethics

Environmental Ethics prepares students to understand the ethical implications of human activities on the environment through a critical evaluation of the moral responsibilities individuals and societies may have toward the natural world. A variety of ethical theories will be used in addressing such topics as animal rights, biocentrism, holism, environmental justice, sustainability, and obligations toward future generations. Debates on environmental issues facing our world today like food production, climate change, population growth, and pollution will be studied using the practical application of ethical thought.
