Contemporary World Literature

Contemporary World Literature presents a post-World War II overview of diverse and multicultural literature. Through readings in long and short fiction and poetry, students explore the way different cultures and writers see their internal and external worlds in relation to their sense of self. The primary focus will be on diverse and multicultural text analysis, seeking and challenging evidence of universal themes and human experience. Prerequisite: Reading - Multiple Measure Reading (MMR) or Accuplacer 253 or ACT 20 AND Writing - Multiple Measure Writing (MMW) or Accuplacer 262 or ACT 16 OR 10831104 College Reading and Writing with a C or better This course has options available to receive credit for prior learning (CPL) or work experience.
